Somersett County fs  In Obedience to the Commission from the worship full Court of ^the^ Somersett County
afsd Dated ye 19.th day of December ^Ann.o Dom^ 1723 to us John Purnall Samuel Hopkins Robert Martin
and Adam Spence Sen.r to Examin Evidence in Relation to ye Bounds of a Certain Tract of
Land Lying In Synapuckson Neck In Somersett County afsd Called Mayfield Containing five hundred
acres Belonging to a Certain William Fasett                  According as by the said precept we are
Directed we the subscribers In Presents of the said William Fasitt Plantive and Edmond
Crapper and William Turvill defendants went upon the said Land Called Mayfields On the
fourteenth day of May In this present year Vizt 1724 and William Freeman Being Brought
an Evidence for ye said William Fasitt Plantive Being sworn On the holy Evangelist
sayeth that on ye Brinck of Newhaven Bay where the said Plantive and Evidence & we then
stood (Being Carried ^by the^ Direction of the said William Freeman ye Evidence afsd he Being aged
forty two years or thereabouts) Being about Midway Between two points Makeing unto
the said Bay One of the points Vizt ye Northermost Being a thickett of Pursimons trees
and On ye Southermost a thicket of Oak trees a small distant North Est East from an Old Orchard
of Aple trees where the said William Freeman Being a Corner Tree sworn as afsd On ^his^ his Oath
sayeth that he very well Remembers that there stood a marked White Oak which he Know to
be a Corner tree and first Bounder of a Tract of Land Called Goshan and allso the first Bounder
of the said Tract of Land Called ^may feilds & further saith not^ the same 4th day of May and year afsd Henry Alexander
aged thirty three years or thereabouts Being Brought On Evidence by the said William
Fas Fasitt Plft Being sworn on ye holy Evangelist saith (Coming to ye same place on
the brinck of the said Bay Called Newhaven Bay wherein the said Freman declared) that he
the said Alexander about seven or Eight years ago at ye Request of the said Fasitt assisted
to Cary the Chain Runing Out ye said Tract of Land called Mayfield M.r R Wrixham White
surveying ye same and that ye same ^his^ and that he ye said Alexander Very well remembers
that they begin ^at^ the same place of the said brink of New haven Bay where the said Freeman
Hath declared that ye said white Oak Being ye First Bounder of Mayfields stood & that ^at^ all
the ^time^ Begun runing ye Lines of the said Tract at ye Time afsd he heard severall Evidences
standing at ye same place or brink say that there stood ye Marked White Oak which was
the First Bounder of Goshan and also the First Bounder of the said Tract of Land Called
Mayfeilds and further sayeth Not                           And from thence Being Conducted
