159 Court that the said Jeremiah Townsend be fined for his unbecoming speeches the sum of five hundred pounds of tobacco to be appropriated according to Law and that he be COmmitted into the Custody of the Sherr of Somersett County untill he pays the fine afd and ordered that he give recognizance for his good beheaviour and appearance at next Court Thereupon the said Jeremiah Townsend present here in Court acknowowledged himselfe to owe & stand Justly Indebted unto his Lordship the right honourable the Lord proprietary his heirs and successors in the sum of ten pounds sterling to be Levied on his body goods or Chattles Lands or tenements for the Use of his said Lordship the Lord Proprietary his heirs and successors In Case the said Jeremiah Townsend do not make his personall appearance before the Justices of our County Court to be held at dividing Creek the third tuesday of June next to answer unto his Lordship Concerning all such matters and things as shall be then and there objected against him on his Lordships Behalfe and not to depart the same Court without Lycence thereof and in the mean time to be of good Beheaviour to all his Lordship's Leige people Likewise John Dennis of Somersett County Gent ^his Security^ present here in Court acknowledged himselfe to owe and stand Justly Indebted unto his said Lordship the Lord proprietary his heirs and successors in the sum of ten pounds ster to be Levi'd &c In Case the said Jeremiah Townsend is not of the good beheaviour and appearance at next Court &c Upon the petition of Jeremiah Townsend to be discharged from the fine and recognizance afd the pet.n afd being read & heard and mature deliberation had Its ordered by the Justices that the said Jeremiah Townsend of the fine afd be thereof acquitt and Likewise discharged from the recogn afd &c Somersett County fs Charles absolute Lord and proprietarie of the provinces of Maryland and avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &c To Samuel Hopkins John Purnall Robert Martin and Adam Spence senr of Somersett County Gentlemen Greeting Know yee that wee have appointed you or any three or two of you to be our Commissioners to Examine Evidence in relation to ye Bounds of a Certain Tract of Land Lying in Synapuckson neck in Somersett County Called Mayfeilds Containing five hundred acres Belonging to a Certain William Fasitt Wee therefore require you or any three or two of you to meet on ye afsd Land Called May Feilds on a Certain time as you shall seem Convenient and that you Cause to Come before you or any three or two of you all such Evidences as shall be to you or any three or two of you Named by any partys that shall be Concerned therein & that you Examine them on their Corporall Oa Oaths to be by you or any three or two of you administred on ye holy Evangelist in the presents of the partys Concerned in ye Premises afsd (if they have timely Notice thereof and think fitt to be present) touching their Knowledge or remebrance of any thing that may relate to ye Bounds of the Land afsd Called Mayfields and that redmeing into writeing there severall depossisions you send the same together with this our Commission under your or any three or two of your hands to us in Our County Court of Somersett with all Convenient speed Wittness Charles Ballard Gentl: Chief Justice of Our said Court (the) |
