Whereupon the said Solomon Colebourn in his Own proper person present here in Court acknowledged himselfe to Owe & Stand Justly Indebted unto his Lordship the Right honourable Charles Lord & proprietary of the province of maryland his heirs & successors in the sum of ten pounds Curr.t money to be Levied on his body goods or Chattles Lands or tenements for the use of his said Lordship In Case the said Solomon Colebourn doe not make his personall appearance before the Justices of our County Court to be held at dividing Creek the third tuesday of June next to give Evidence on behalfe of his said Lordship agt the said Mary Bolitha and not to depart the same Court without Lycence thereof &c Whereas there was an order delivered a Certain Andrew Lackey on Joseph Macklester high Sherr of Somersett for five pounds Ninteen Shill.s and five pence to be paid unto the said andrew Lackey (out of the fines for fornication) for Causwaying and the said Andrew Lackey Endorst the same order to a Certain George Dashiell but the said George Dashiel demanding the said Money of the said MccClester Could not Gett the same Now here at this day to witt the seventeenth day of March ann Dom one thousand seven hundred & twenty three ^the Justices^ did discount with the said George Dashiell three pounds out of the afd order ^for two fines^ and Likewise Delivered an other order for the Ball of the first order &c
Jurisdiction of this County in and upon a Certain Elizabeth Porter a girle then about the age of five Years in the Peace of God and Our Said Lord proprietary then and there being violently made an assault with Intention the same Elizabeth Porter then and there to ravish and Carnally Know and other harms to the said Elizabeth Porter then and there did to the great Damage of the same Elizabeth Porter and against the Peace of Our Lord Proprietary his good rule & Dignity Levin Gale P Dom Proprt Test Wm Stoughton Esqr Capt Wm Planner Capt Jno Jones On the Back of the foregoeing Bill it was thus Endorst viz.t Bill Vera Adam Heatch foreman Thereupon Command is Given to the Sherr of Somersett County that he should take the said William Robinson if &c to answer &c And Now hereafterwards to witt the same Day & Year Comes the said William Robinson in Custody of the Sherr; into whose Custody before that time was Committed and being by the Sherr sett to the Barr is thereupon Instantly demanded how he would acquitt himselfe of the premisses afd above Imposed upon him says that of the premisses afd upon him Imposed he is Guilty thereof and submitts to the Mercy of the Court Wherefore it is Considered by the Justices (here) |
