County that he do thereof Immediate Execution according to the Judgm.t afd Rendered by whiping the afd Mary Roberts
at the publick whiping post with ten Lashes on the bear back well Laid on untill the blood appear afterwards in the
same Court the Sherr returnes that he has done the Execution of the Judgmt afd as to the Corporall punishmt afd he was
Commanded thereupon the said Mary Roberts is discharged she giveing security for the paymt of the severall off
officers their fees  And Likewise to reemburst to the County what tobacco they paid for her &c to the officers &c
       thereupon John Ricketts Present here in Court acknowledged himselfe to owe & stand Justly Indebted unto
the Lord proprietary in the sum of ten pounds Curr.t money to be Levied &c in Case he doth not pay their severall
Officers their Fees that accrued by action of the premisses afd and Likewise to refund to the County what tobacco they
paid for her &c

 Somersett County fs:    The Jurors for his Lordship Charles absolute Lord and proprietary of the province
of maryland &c for the body of Somersett County upon their oath do present Mary Roberts a molatto
of all hollows parish in the County afd for that the said Mary Roberts the fear of God before her Eyes not
haveing but being seduced & Led away by the Instigation of the Devill on or about the first of September ann Dom
Dom one thousand seven hundred and twenty three at the parish and County afd did Committ fornication with a Certain
person to this Inquest unknown by reason whereof the said Mary Roberts on or about the first of September ann
Dom One thousand seven hundred & twenty three at the County and parish afd was delivered of a bastard Child against
the peace &c and against the form of an act of assembly of this province Now in force in Such Case made & provided &c
                   On the back of the foregoeing Bill it was thus Endorst vizt Billa vera Ja: MackMorie Foreman
                   Thereupon Command was given to the Sherr of Somersett County that should take the said Mary Roberts if &c
       to answer &c  And Now here afterwards to witt the Seventeenth day of March ann Dom one thousand seven hundred
    and twenty three Comes the said Mary Roberts and being by the sherr sett to the Barr is thereupon Instantly
demanded how she would acquitt her selfe of the premisses afd Imposed upon her says that she is guilty
thereof and submitts to the Mercy of the Court but hath not wherewith all to pay her fine for the fact afd &c
                Wherefore it is Considered by the Justices here that the said Mary Roberts be whipt with ten Lashes at the publick
Whiping post on the Bear Back well Laid on untill the Blood appear and that she be taken &c and thereupon
as to the Corporall Punishm.t afd Command is given to the Sherr of Somersett County that he do thereof Immediate
Execution according to the Judgmt afd rendered by whiping the afd Mary Roberts at the publick whiping post with
ten Lashes well Laid on untill the Blood appear afterwards in the same Court the Sherr returns that he has done
the Execution of the Judgmt afd as to the Corporall punishm.t afd he was Commanded thereupon the said Mary Roberts
is discharged ^upon^ giving security for paying the severall Officers their Fees due by action of the premisses afd Whereupon
a Certain John Rickords present here in Court acknowledged himselfe to Owe & Stand Justly Indebted unto
his Lordship the Lord proprietary in the sum of ten pounds Currt money to be Levied &c  In Case he doth not
pay unto the severall officers their fees due by action of the premisses &c
