143 was afterwards that is to say the tenth day of January one thousand seven hundred & twenty three at the parish afd in the County afd within the afd Jurisdiction was delivered of a bastard Child against the peace ^&c^ & the form of the act of assembly in that Case made & provided &c L Gale P Lopp On the Back of the foregoeing Bill of Indictmt it was thus Endorst viz.t Billa vera Adam Heatch Foreman Thereupon Command is Given to the Sherr of Somersett County that he should take the said Mary Jones if &c to answer &c and now hereafterwards to witt this seventeenth day of march ann Dom one thousand seven hundred & twenty three Comes the said Mary Jones in Custody & being by the Sherr sett to the Barr is thereupon Instantly demanded now she would acquitt herselfe of the premisses afd above Imposed upon her says that of the premisses afd she is guilty thereof and submitts to the Mercy of the Court and is willing to pay her fine for the fact afd Wherefore it is Considered by the Justices here that the said Mary Jones be fined to her Lordship the Lord proprietary thirty shillings for the fact afd & is ordered to give sery for the fine afd thereupon Capt John Jones present here in Court undertakes for the said Mary Jones for to pay the fine afd. And Likewise Capt Joseph MccClester present here in Court undertakes for to pay the several officers their fees by Occasion of the premisses afd upon the Indictmt afd thereupon the said Mary Jones is discharged from her recognizance &c
of this Court Committed fornication with a Certain Mary Jones against the peace of the right honourable the Lord proprietary of this province his good rule and dignity and also against the form of the act of assembly in such Case made and provided &c L Gale P Dom Prop.r On the back of the foregoeing Bill of Indictm.t it was thus Endorst viz.t Bill vera Adam Heatch Foreman Thereupon Command is given to the Sherr of Somersett County that he should take the said Mitchell Dashiel if &c to answer &c And now hereafterwards to witt this seventeenth day of march ann Dom One thousand seven hundred & twenty three Comes the said Mitchell Dashiell and being by the Sherr sett to the Barr is thereupon Instantly demanded how he would acquitt himselfe of the premisses afd above Imposed upon him says that of the premisses afd upon him Imposed he is Guilty thereof and submitts to the Mercy of the Court and is willing to pay his fine for (the) |
