1723 121 Likewise The said Thomas Walker present here in Court ackn undertooke for the said Sarah Walker Sen Sarah Walker Jun Susannah Walker & Mary Walker and acknowledged himselfe to Owe & stand Justly Indebted unto the right honourable the Lord proprietary his heirs & successors in the sum of One hundred pounds Curr.t money to be Levied on his Body Goods r Chattles Lands or Tenements for the Use of said Lordship In Case the said Sarah Walker Sen Sarah Walker Jun Susannah Walker & Mary Walker doe not make their personally appearance before the Justices of Our County Court to be held at dividing Creek in Somersett County afd the third tuesday of March next to answer unto his Lordship Concerning all such Matters and things as shall be then & there objected against them on his said Lordships Behalfe & not to depart the same Court without Lycence thereof and in the mean time to be of good Beheaviour to all his Lordships Leige people & more Especially to Merrick Ellis then ye above recognizance to be void &c otherwise &c Esther Fluellen appears according to her recognizance Entered into Last Court and is discharged therefrom &c Merrick Ellis and Alice his wife appears according to their recognizance Entered into Last Court and are discharged Thomas Holbrook & Sarah his wife appears according to their recognizance Entered into Last Court and are discharged John Bannister, John Records, Ann Shills, Elizabeth Hust, Ann Wilkins, and Thomas Walker appears according to their recognizance Entered into Last Court and are discharged therefrom &c
day of October Anno: Dom: Seventeen hundred and twenty two at the parish and County afd did Committ fornication ^with a Certain person^ to this Inquest unknown by reason whereof the said Mary before herselfe to be on the second day of July ann Dom One th seventeen hundred and twenty three at the parish and County was delivered of a bastard Child against the peace &c and against the form of an act of assembly of this province Now in force in such Case made and provided &c Tazwell Clk Indictmts Test Jos: Gray On the Back of the foregoeing Bill of Indictm.t It was thus Endorst Billa Vera James Mackmorie foreman Therefore Command is Given tot he Sherr of Somersett County that he should take the said Mary Cooper if &c to answer &c and afterwards to witt in the same Court the said Mary Cavanough Cooper being sett to the Barr is thereupon Instantly demanded how she would acquitt herselfe of the premise afd as by the Indictm.t above is Imposed upon her says that she is Guilty thereof and submitts to the Mercy of the Court and pays thirty shillings for her fine for the fact afd Therefore the it is Considered (by) |
