annapolis the 23d day of September Last there is an act for the Ease of the Inhabitants of this province in Examining Evidences relateing to the Bounds of Land Now for as much as your petitioner stands possest of a tract of Land Lying in Somersett County in Somersett parish Called Chance Containing Ninty acres more or Less the Bounds of which is some what precarious and uncertain and the Evidences to prove the same Antient and Infirm Your petitioner prays that your worships will be pleased to proceed to appoint Commissioners according to the direction of that act to Examine Evidences to prove or perpetuate the memory of the Bounds afd and your petitioner as in duty Bound shall Ever pray Jno King The petition afd being read and heard and maturally deliberated It's therefore Ordered by the Court that a Commission Issue to Francis ALlen, William Planner, Ephraim Wilson & John Tunstall of Somersett County Gent and that they be Commissioners to take the depositions in relation to the Bounds of the Land afd &c
plant or make any Corn or Other Necessarys for the Support of my family And forasmuch as their is a Small peice of ^Cultavated^ Land that Lyeth Contiguous to the Court house afd the premisses Considered I humbly begg your worships to grant your poor petitioner to plant the same small peice of Cultivated Land with Corn and Such Other Necessarys as maybe for the use of your poor petitioner and family &c and in duty Bound your petitioner will Ever pray for your worships the petition afd being read and heard and fully understood It's therefore Considered & Ordered by the Court that M.r Joseph Gray Limitt and Order where and what part of the Court hous Land the said Ann Jones may plant for this year and Likewise what part of the said Land the Widdow Obryan may plant &c Whereas John Caldwell of Somersett County Gentl had hired One Patrick Kersey to do some Causway on the road for the County use &c and Now here at this day to witt the Ninteenth day of November Ann Dom One thousand seven hundred and twenty three the said John Caldwell present here in Court humbly prays the same Court to appoint some persons to view the same Causway and put an Estimate there on whereupon the Court do appoint that Capt John Jones and William Stoughton Esq.r doe meet on the said Road ^on^ by a Certain (time) |
