1723 118 Christopher Nutter Brings a negro Boy into Court Called Cato and prays the approbation of the same Court how Old the said Negro Boy Called Cato is, Thereupon the Court are of Opinion and adjudge the said Negro boy to be of the age of fourteen years &c William Jones Sen.r appointed Constable of Great Manigh hundred for the Ensuing Year in the stead of Jn.o White/ Revell Horsey appointed Constable of Manocan hundred for the Ensuing Year in Stead of Will.m Eskridge/ John Davis appointed Constable of Annamessex hundred for the Ensuing Year in Stead of Michael Holland Jun.r Henry Jerman appointed Constable of Boqueternorton hundred for the Ensuing Year in Stead of George Truett Hugh Nelson appointed Constable of Mattapony hundred for the Ensueing Year in Stead of Christopher Glass William Young appointed Constable of Nanticoke hundred for the Ensuing Year in Stead of James Bounds &c Jonathan Bounds appointed Constable of Wickacomoco hundred for the Ensueing Year in Stead of John Rickard Jun.r William Gray appointed Constable of Pocomoke hundred for the Ensuing Year in Stead of W.m Porter Joseph Gray appointed Constable of Baltemore hundred for the Ensuing Year in Stead of Edmond Cropper James Parimore Brings his servant into Court Called John Gurly who had absented himselfe out of his said Masters Service Eleven days and Likewis the Said James Parrimore produces an account to this Court that he had paid for the said John Gurly's takeing up and Other Charge Eight hundred pounds of toba thereupon the said James Parimore humbly prays the Court that the said John Gurley may be adjudged to serve him according to Law for the Runaway time and Charge afd &c Whereupon the Court having naturally Considered the same do adjudge that the said Gurley serve his said Master seven days for every day that he was about which amounts to seventy seven days & Likewise the said John Gurley is further adjudged to serve his said Master Eight months in full for the said Eight hundred pounds of tobacco paid as afd all which service to Commence at the Expiration of the said John Gurlys servitude &c Upon the petition of Roger Philips and William More against Jacob Crouch it's Ordered that Sumons Issue against the said Jacob Crouch returnable to Next Court &c Ordered by the Court that the Sherr of Somersett County pay unto Andrew Lackey the Sum of five pounds Ninteen Shillings and five pence for Causwaying on the road the afd sume of five pounds Ninteen Shillings and five pence to be paid Out of the fines &c Ordered by the Court that the Sherr of Somersett County pay unto George Greer the sum of Eight pounds ten Shillings and two pence for Causwaying on the road the said Eight pounds ten Shill & two pence to be paid out of the fines &c Thomas Newbold appointed Overseer of the roads in Pocomoke hundred for the Ensuing Year in Stead of Capt Fenton &c |
