118 which day the said Sherr together with Severall Justices and Clerk of the County Court mett at the Court house and the severall free holders and Others qualified to give a vote in an Election as afd the writt of Election being read and Court sett the said free f holders and Others qualified to give a vote as afd did then and there Elect a Certain George Dashiell as delegate for the County afd &c Att a Court of the Right honourable Charles absolute Lord and proprietor of the provinces of maryland and avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &c held at Dividing Creek in Somersett County the third tuesday of november (by his said Lordships Justices and Commissioners) being the Ninteenth day of the same month and in the Eighth Year of his said Lordships Dominion &c ann Dom 1723
Proclamation being made in Usuall form and the Sherr of Somersett County to witt Joseph MccClester Gentl being Called to make return of the pannel of the Grand Jurors returns the same which Jurors are as Followeth vizt James MccMorie, Robert Harris, Jonathan Rayman, James Weatherly, Alexander Carlyle, Nathaniel Ratclif, Joseph Waite, Samuel Taylor, W.m M.cc Clamey, Thomas Ralph, Lewis Jones, John Laws, John Williams, Philip Selby, Thomas Gordon James Train Charles Townsend John Kellum, Thomas Baker, Stephen Walton, John Gunby Price Collins, John Turpin who being severally Called appeared and were sworn and Charged and sent Out to Consider &c who soon after appeared and present to the Court here the following Bills of Indictm.t being ^Content^ that the Court should amend form altering noe manner of substance in them vizt Indictm.t against Mary Cabanough, Sarah Walker Sarah Walker Jun, Susannah Walker, Mary Walker, George Gurley, Mary Cooper, Eliz.a Townsend, Mary Roberts, Eliz.a Burcher, Edward Chapman, Rachel Walton, Sarah Martin, Thomas Rencher, Selvister Salter Ann Wheley and Catherine Ryne thereupon the Grand Jurors are discharged and ordered that they be allowed the sum of five hundred pounds of tobacco to be paid in the County Levey for their publick service this Court and against the severall persons afd Indicted it is ordered that Capias Issue returnable to Next Court George Tull Brings a negro Boy into Court ^Called abner^ and humbly prays the Court to give their Judgmt held old the said Negro Boy is thereupon the Court are of opinion and adjudge the said Negro Boy Called Abner to be of the age of fourteen years &c |
