9 State of Maryland Caroline to wit Whereas Negro Esther heretofore to wit on the 27 day of August 1791 was manumitted by Benjamin Blunt of Caroline County to be free on the first day of January 1794 as by the said manumission remaining of record in Caroline County reference being thereto had will appear and whereas the said negro Esther hath made application to me for a Certificate of her freedom agreeably to an act of assembly upon the Oath of Mr Benjamin Blunt that the said Negro woman Esther is the identical who was manumitted by him as afs.d I do hereby Certify that the said negro woman called Esther is about five feet two Inches high and from the best information which I can receive is about fifty years of age is of a Black complexion was raised in Queen Anns County until near grown and afterwards in Caroline & that the said negro woman has no notable marks which I can discover and she says she has none. In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand and affixed the public seal of my office this second day of June Anno Domini 1807 Tho Richardson Clk of Caroline County Co.t Caroline County to wit Be it remembered that on the 1 day of June 1807 I delivered to negro milly the following Certificate State of Maryland Caroline County to wit Whereas a certain Negro woman by the name of milly heretofore to wit on the 27 day of August 1791 was manumitted by mr Benjamin Blunt of Caroline County to be free on the 1 day of January 1800 as by the said manumission will appear and whereas application is made to me by said milly and whom mr Benjamin Blunt makes Oath is the identical person who was manumitted by |
