second day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and seven   Tho Richardson Clk of Caroline County Court


Caroline County to wit.  Be it remembered that on the thirtieth day
of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seven
I delivered to negro Sam in the following Certificate named a
Certificate of which the following is a true Copy.  Viz.t

State of Maryland Caroline County to wit.  Whereas a certain negro
man by the name of Sam heretofore to wit on the twelfth day
of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
four was manumitted by Mrs Margarett Walker of Caroline
County to be free from the date of said manumission as by the said
manumission remaining of record in the County afd reference
being thereto had will appear and whereas application is made
to me by the said negro man called Sam (whom I know is the
identical person who was manumitted as afd) for a Certificate
of his freedom agreeably to act of Assembly.  I do hereby Certify
that the said negro man called Sam is five feet one inch and
three quarters high and from the age expressed in the manumission
af.d the said negro man called Sam is about thirty
three years of age of a black Complexion was raised in Caroline
County has a small Scar on his right breast which he says
was occasioned by a burn and a Scar on his ^right^ arm about for or
five inches above his right hand also a small narrow scar
on his right wrist and no other notable marks which I can
discover.  In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my
hand and affixed the Public seal of my office this thirtieth
day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and seven   Tho Richardson Clk Caroline County

June 1807 I delivered to negro Esther the following Certificate
