89 both of a Dark complexion and no other notable marks that I have discovered In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand and affixed the public seal of my office (seal) this nineteenth day of August Eighteen hundred and Sixteen Jo Richardson Clk of Caroline County COurt Maryland Caroline County to wit Whereas application hath been made to me by a negroe man named McKinsey Cook for a Certificate agreeably to an act of assembly passed at November Session Eighteen hundred and five by which said act free negroes and molattoes are permitted to travel out of this State upon their obtaining certificate of being free born. And whereas also upon the oath of Mr William Peters of Caroline County afsd that the said negroe man named McKinsey Cook for whom this Certificate is made was free born. I do therefore grant his said application and hereby Certify that he is five feet three Inches and an half inch high or thereabout was raised in Caroline COunty he says he is about thirty years oaf age has a scar on the left cheek a small flesh mark on the right side of his breast a considerable scar on the inner side of his left foot shews his teeth very plain especially when he laughs of a common complexion he is a black Smith by profession and no other notable marks that I have discovered In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand and (seal) affixed the public seal of my office this twenty third day of August in the year of our Lord anno Domini Eighteen hundred and sixteen Jo Richardson Clk of Caroline County Court |
