and whereas also upon the Evidence of Mr Jacob Reese
of Caroline County that the said negroe named
Peter Moor for whom this Certificate is made is ^was^ free
born I do therefore grant his said application and
hereby certify that he is five feet seven Inches high or
thereabouts has a small scar on his right arm between
the elbow and rist tolerably black & well made and
no other notable marks that I have discovered he says
he is twenty four years old and was raised in Caroline
County   In Testimony whereof I have hereto set
my hand and affixed the public seal of my office
(seal)   this sixth day of August Eighteen hundred and
             sixteen

State of Maryland Caroline County to wit

Whereas heretofore to wit on the second day of January Eighteen
hundred and sixteen Thomas Pippin of Caroline County by deed of
manumission duly executed acknowledged and recorded amongst the
records for Caroline County did manumit and set free a negroe
woman named Henry Williams being under the age of Forty
five years to be free from the date of the said manumission
And whereas the said negroe woman named Henry Williams hath
made application to me for a certificate of her freedom agreeably
to an act of assembly in such case made and provided and I being
satisfied by the oath of John Moore of the County afsd that
the said negroe woman named Henry Williams for whom this
Certificate is made is the identical person mentioned in the
manumission afsd I do therefore grant her said application and
hereby certify that she is five feet Six Inches high or thereabout
says she was raised Queen Anns County has a scar on the bottom
of her right foot near her little toe and a very slight
