80 And being satisfied by the Certificate of Jacob Loockerman Esquire of Talbot County and also upon the evidence of Thomas Burke of Caroline County that the said negro man named Paca for whom this Certificate is made is the identical person mentioned in the manumission afsd I therefore grant his said application and hereby Certify that from the age expressed in the afsd manumission he is about thirty two years of age he is five feet five Inches high has a large scar on the top of his left foot a small scar on under his left eye and also on the right side of his upper lip and of a dark complexion and no other notable marks that I have discovered In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand and affixed the public seal of (Seal) my office this fourth day of March Eighteen hundred and sixteen Jo Richardson Clk Caroline County Court State of Maryland Caroline County to wit Whereas heretofore to wit on the Twenty fourth day of January Eighteen hundred and one William Ports of Caroline County by a Deed of Manumission duly executed acknowledged and recorded among the records of Caroline County did manumit and set free a negro boy named Daniel to be free and at his own will when he should arrive to the age of Twenty one years and whereas the said negro man named Daniel hath made application to me for a certificate of his freedom agreeably to the act of assembly in such case made and provided and being satisfied by the affirmation of Ann Ports of Talbot County Maryland that the said Negro man named Daniel |
