74 Seven and a half Inches high or thereabout tolerably stout made and no other marks that I have discovered In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand and (Seal) affixed the public seal of my office this fifteenth day of august 1815 Tho Richardson Clk Caroline County Court State of Maryland Caroline County to wit Whereas on the 28.th day February 1800 Thomas Hopkins of Caroline County by Deed of manumission duly executed acknowledged and recorded amongst the Records of Caroline County did manumit and set free a negro woman named Sarah to be free from and after the date of the said manumission and whereas the said negro woman named Sarah hath made application to me for a certificate of her freedom agreeably to the act of assembly in such case made and provided and being satisfied by the oath of James Hopkins Fleharty of the County aforesaid that the said negro woman named Sarah to whom this certificate is delivered is the Identical person mentioned in the manumission afsd I do therefore grant her said application and hereby certify that from the age expressed in the said manumission the said negro woman named Sarah is forty three years of age was raised in Caroline County she is five feet three and a half inches high yellowish complexion has a natural mark from her birth on the under part of her right arm adjoining her elbow about an inch long and no other particular marks that I have discovered In Testimony whereof I have hereto (Seal) set my hand and affixed the public seal of my office this sixteenth day of august Eighteen hundred and fifteen Tho Richardson Clk of Caroline County Court |
