Caroline County to wit  Be it remembered that on the twelfth
day of July Eighteen hundred and ten I delivered to mulatto
woman named Ritta a Certificate a Copy of which is
as follows  Vizt

State of Maryland Caroline County to wit  Whereas a cer
application hath been made to me by a mulatto woman named
Ritta Heretofore to wit on the twelfth day of February in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and five was manumited
by White Turpin of Caroline County to be free from and after the
first day of January Eighteen hundred and nine as by the said
manumission remaining of Record in Caroline County Court reference
being thereto had will more fully appear.  And whereas the said
mulatto woman named Ritta hath made application to me for
a certificate of her freedom agreeably to the act of assembly and
upon the Oath of M.r Warner Busteed that the said mulatto woman
named Ritta is the Identical person who was manumited as
aforesaid.  I do hereby Certify that the said mulatto woman
named Ritta is five feet two Inches high of a yellow complexion
was raised in Caroline County has a small scar on the right side
of her face on the Cheek bone and no other notable marks
which I can discover
                            In Testimony whereof I have hereto
    (County)           set my hand and affixed the public
    (   seal  )           seal of my office this sixteenth day of
                            July in the year of our Lord one
                            thousand eight hundred and ten
