Caroline County to wit  Be it remembered that on the
nineteenth day of June Eighteen hundred and nine
I delivered to negro Will or Will Chamberlaine a
certificate a Copy of which is as follows vizt

          State of Maryland Caroline County to wit
Whereas application hath been made to me by a negro man
man named Will (or Will Chamberlaine) heretofore to wit
on the second day of November in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and five was manumitted by Sally F.
Goldsborough of Caroline County to be free at the time of the
executing of the Deed of manumission as by the said Deed
of manumission remaining of Record in Caroline County Court
reference being thereto had will more fully and at large appear
And whereas also the said negro man named Will or (Will
Chamberlaine hath made application to me for a certificate
of his freedom agreeably to the act of assembly and upon
the Oath of James Clements that the said negro man named
Will or (Will Chamberlaine is the Identical person who
was manumited as aforesaid.  I do hereby Certify
that the said negro man named Will or (Will Chamberlaine
is five feet nine and three quarter Inches high of a dark
complexion has no particular marks which I can
discover      In Testimony whereof I have hereto set
                   my hand and affixed the public seal of
(County)     my office this nineteenth day of June
(   seal  )     in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred
                   and ten
