Caroline County to wit  Be it remembered that on the twenty
sixth day of February Eighteen hundred and ten I delivered
to mulatto Sarah a certificate a Copy of which is as follows

       State of Maryland Caroline County to wit
       Whereas application hath been made to me by a mulatto
woman named Sarah heretofore to wit on the thirteenth day
of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and seven was manumitted by William Harriss of Caroline
County to be free from and after the first day of January
in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and ten as by the said
manumission remaining of Record in Caroline County to wit
reference being thereto had will more fully and at large
appear.  And whereas also the said mulatto woman named
Sarah hath made application to me for a certificate of
her freedom agreeable to the act of assembly and upon the
Application of Seth Hill Evitts that the said mulatto woman
named Sarah is the Identical person who was manumitted
as aforesaid.   I do hereby Certify that the said mulatto
woman named Sarah is five feet two Inches high of
a dark yellow Complexion with a large mouth has a
large scar on the left cheek near the Ear and no other
particular marks which I can discover
                   In Testimony whereof I have hereto set
(County)      my hands and affixed the public seal of
(   Seal  )     my office this twenty sixth day of
                   February in the year of our Lord one
                   thousand eight hundred and Ten
