225 black Complexion was born and raised in Caroline County has a scar on the joint of her right thumb next the wrist and another small scar on the back of her right arm a little above the elbow and no other notable marks or scars that I have observed In Testimony whereof I hereto subscribe my name and affix (seal) the public seal of my office this 3d day of april Anno Domini 1827 Jo Richardson Clk of Caroline County Court State of Maryland Caroline County to wit Whereas heretofore to wit; on the fifth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety six a certain George Martin of Caroline County by deed of manumission duly executed acknowledged acknowledged and recorded among the land records of Caroline County did manumit and set free a certain negro woman named Ereanna to be free on the fifth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven And the said negro woman named Ereanna having made application to me for a certificate of her freedom agreeably to the Act of assembly in such case made and provided and whereas also upon the testimony of Elizabeth Richardson of Caroline County that the said negro woman named Ereanna for whom this Certificate is made is the same person mentioned in the said manumission. I do therefore grant her said application and hereby Certify that from her age as expressed in the said manumission she was thirty five years of age the fifth day of January last she is about five feet one & an half inches high of a complexion nearly black was born in Caroline & raised in Talbot County has a yellowish natural mark under her left ear and a scar of a burn on the top of her forehead over her left eye and no other notable mark or scar that I have discovered In Testimony whereof I hereto subscribe my name & affix (seal) the public seal of my office this 7th day of April anno Domini 1827 Jo Richardson Clk of Caroline County Court State of Maryland Caroline County to wit Whereas heretofore to wit on the sixth day of March Anno Domini Eighteen hundred and twenty five a certain Edward B Hardcastle of Caroline County by Deed of Manumission duly executed acknowledged and recorded among the land records of Caroline County did manumit and set free a certain negro woman named Fender Thompson |
