20 Certify that the said Mulatto man called Benjamin is about five feet seven inches ^high^ and from the best information I can obtain he is about 25 years of age yellow complexion was raised in Caroline County has a large scar on his right shoulder occasioned by a Burn and a small scar in his right eye brow & has a full face and no other notable marks which I can discover in Testimony whereof I hereto set my hand and the public seal of my office affix this 23d day of Septr Anno Domini 1807 Tho Richardson Cl of Caroline Caroline County to wit Be it Remembered that on the 12th day of January 1808 I delivered to Negro William the following Certificate State of Maryland Caroline COunty to wit whereas a certain Negro Man by the name of William heretofore to wit on the seventh day of March seventeen hundred and ninety one was manumitted by Richard Lockerman of Caroline County his freedom to commence [illegible] ^day of January Eighteen hundred and Eight as by the^ said manumission as by the said manumission remaining of Record in the County aforesaid reference being thereto had will appear and whereas application is made to me by the said Negro man Called William and whom M.r Jacob Lockerman makes Oath is the Identical person who was manumitted by the said Richard Lockerman as aforesaid I Certify that the said Negro man called William is five feet one inch and an half high and from M.r Jacob Lockermans statement to me |
