said manumission remaining of Record in my Office reference
being thereto had will appear; And Whereas the said
negro man called Abraham hath made application
to me for a Certificate of his freedom agreeable to act of
Assembly; Upon the Oath of M.r John Barwick that the
said negro man called Abraham is the identical
person who was manumitted as afd.  I hereby Certify
that the said negro man called Abraham is about
five feet eleven inches high and from the best information
which I can obtain he is about thirty three years of age
of a Black Complexion was raised in Caroline County
he is blind (or nearly so) in his right Eye occasioned (he
says) by an arrow being shot in it when he was
small also a small scar on the left side of his forehead
and one on the Joint of his left great Toe and also a
long scar about the width of  small grain of wheat
in the back of his right hand and no other notable
marks which I can discover      In Testimony
(seal)   whereof I have hereto set my hand and affixed
the public seal of my Office this fifth day of August
Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and seven

Be it remembered that on the 26th day of August
1807 yellow woman Harriott alias Harriott
Laws obtained from my office a Certificate of
which the following is a Correct registry Viz.t

State of Maryland Caroline County to wit
Whereas a certain yellow woman who calls herself
Harriott alias Harriott LAws who alleges
that she was free Born woman hath made
application to me for a Certificate of her freedom
agreeable to act of Assembly  Upon the Oath
