public seal of my office this 1 day of July 1807
                                              Tho Richardson Clk


Caroline County to wit:  Whereas application hath been
made to me by Negro Sam for a Certificate of his freedom
that M.r Philemon Larey of said County who manumitted
said Negro Sam made oath that he is the identical
person named in a manumission dated 16
day of March 1785 from said Philemon Larey to
said Sam to be free on the 25 Dec.r 1804  I Certify
that from the best information which I can
obtain the said James is 26 years of age 5 feet 8
Inches high black complexion was raised in said
County has a scar on his breast a scar across his
right foot and a scar on his Back occasioned
by a broad ax and no other notable marks  In
Witness whereof I hereto set my hand and affix
the public seal of my office the 1 day of July
1807         Tho Richardson  Clk


Caroline County to wit  Be it remembered that on the
          day of August 1807 Negro Abraham obtained
from my Office a Certificate of which the following is
a Correct Registry   Viz.t

State of Maryland Caroline County to wit  Whereas
a certain negro man called Abraham was heretofore
to wit on the 15th day of October in the yea r1792
manumitted by M.r Joseph Barwick of the County
afd to be free on the 18th day of November 1795 as by
