person who was manumitted as aforesaid:  I do hereby Certify
that the said Negro Woman called Jane is four feet eleven
Inches high and three fourths of an Inch high Stout and
well made and from the age expressed in the manumission
aforesaid is about forty two years of age she is of a Black
complexion raised in Talbot County has a scar on the
front ^part^ of each arm just below the elbow and a scar on the
left arm just above ^the joint of the left^ elbow about one Inch long and no
other notable marks which I can discover.  In Testimony
whereof I hereto set my hand and the public seal of
my office the 15 June 1807

Caroline County to wit   On the 29th June 1807 was
delivered to negro Nancy a Certificate of which the following
is a Correct registry Viz.t

State of Maryland Caroline County to wit.  Whereas
a certain negro woman by the name of Nancy heretofore
to wit on the 7th day of March in the year 1791 was
manumitted by Mr Richard Loockerman of Caroline
County to be free 1795 as by said manumission reference
being thereto had will appear:  And whereas the said
negro woman called Nancy hath made application to
me for a Certificate of her freedom agreeable to act of Assembly
upon the Oath of M.r Edward O Clark that the said
negro woman called Nancy is the identical person who
was manumitted as af.d  I do hereby Certify that the
said negro woman called Nancy is five feet and three
quarters of an inch high Dark Complexion and from the
age expressed in the afd manumission she is about 44
years of age was raised in Caroline County has a scar on
