has a scar on the top of her left arm a little below the elbow
joint caused by sticking a stick in it complexion molatto was
born and raised in Queen anns County and no other notable
marks that I have observed.  In testimony whereof I have
hereunto set my hand and the public seal of my office
affixed this twenty seventh day of January anno domini
    (seal)         one thousand eight hundred and nineteen

State of Maryland Caroline County to wit Whereas heretofore to wit
on the twenty fourth day of August in the year seventeen hundred
and nineteen a certain Elizabeth Lecompte of Caroline County
aforesaid by deed of manumission duly executed and recorded amongst
the records of Caroline County afs.d did manumit and set free a
negro woman named Memry to be free and at her liberty from the
tenth day of August eighteen hundred and ten.  And Whereas
the same negro woman called Memrey has made application
to me for a certificate of her freedom agreeably to the act of assembly
in such case made and provided and I being satisfied
by the oath of Philemon Leary that the said negro woman
for whom this certificate is made is the identical negro woman
mentioned in the said manumission I do therefore grant her
said application and hereby certify that the said negro
Memrey is five feet two and three quarter inches high or thereabouts
and (from the age expressed in said manumission) she will be
thirty one years old in August next ensuing of a dark brown
complexion was born and raised in Caroline County has no notable
mark or scar that I have observed.  In testimony whereof
I have hereunto set my hand and the public seal of my office
    (seal)   affixed this twenty sixth day of February A. D. 1819

wit on the fifth day of April in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred
and five Thomas Roe Lee of Caroline County by deed of manumission
duly executed acknowledged and recorded amongst the
records of Caroline County did manumit and set free a negro woman
