Dobson has made application to me for a certificate of his freedom
agreeably to the act of assembly in such case made and provided
and I being satisfied by the oath of Jeremiah Rhoads of the county
aforesaid that the said Mollatto man named James Dobson for
whom this certificate is made is the identical person mentioned in
said manumission  I do therefore grant his said application and
hereby certify that from the age expressed in said manumission
he is forty four years of age or thereabouts five feet six and an
half inches high or thereabouts the end joint of both his thumbs
off complexion molatto was born and raised in Queen anns County
and no other notable marks that I have observed.  In
Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and the public
    (seal)   seal of my office affixed this twenty seventh day of January
                Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and

                   County Court


State of Maryland Caroline County to wit; Whereas on the
twenty seventh day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and nineteen Jeremiah Rhoads of Caroline
County by deed of manumission duly executed acknowledged
and recorded amongst the records of Caroline County did
manumit and set free a molatto woman named Molly Dobson
to be free from the date of said manumission as it appears
of record and whereas the said Molly Dobson has made application
to me for a certificate of her freedom agreeably to the
act of assembly in such case made and provided and I being
satisfied by the oath of Jeremiah Rhoads of the county aforesaid
that the said molatto woman named molly Dobson for whom
this certificate is made is the identical person mentioned
in said manumission I do therefore grant her said application
and hereby certify that from the age expressed in
said manumission she is forty four years of age or thereabouts
five feet five and three quarter inches high or thereabouts
