Feet eight & a half inches high or thereabouts was eighteen
years of age the thirteenth day of October eighteen hundred
and seventeen was born & raised in Caroline County is of a
bright molatto complexion has a large scar on the outside
of the small of his right leg and has no other notable
mark or scar that I have discovered
                In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand
(Seal)       and affixed the public seal of my office this 27th
                day of July Anno Domini 1818

State of Maryland Caroline County to wit   whereas
application hath been made to me by a molatto had named
Henry Trusty for a certificate of his freedom agreeably to an
act of the General assembly of maryland passed at November
Session eighteen hundred and five by which said act free
negroes and molattoes are permitted to travel out of this state
upon their obtention of a certificate of being free born.  And whereas
also upon the affirmation of Joseph Anthony of Caroline County
aforesaid that the said molatto lad Henry Trusty for whom
this certificate is made was free born:  I do therefore grant
his said application and hereby Certify that he is five feet
four and a half inches high was sixteen years of age the
twenty seventh day of August eighteen hundred and seventeen
of a molatto complexion born & Rais^e^d in Caroline County
aforesaid has a long scar on his right hand on the fleshy
part between his thumb & forefinger & lengthwise the hand and
no other notable mark or scar that I have observed
                   In Testimony whereas I have hereto set my
                   hand and affixed the public seal of my office
(Seal)          this 27.th day of July Anno Domini 1818
