11 was manumitted by Miss Sarah Lane of Caroline County to be free and at perfect liberty on the 25th day of December that next following as by the said manumission remaining of record in Caroline County reference being thereto had will appear And Whereas the said negro Priss hath made application to me for a Certificate of her freedom agreeably to act of Assembly upon the Oath of M.r William Hooper that the said negro woman Priss is the identical person who was manumitted as af.d I do hereby Certify that the said negro woman called Priss is five feet four inches high and Very Stout made and from the age expressed in the manumitted af.d she is about thirty eight years of age she is of a Dark Complexion was born in Queen Anns County and raised untill she was about 13 or 14 years of age and afterwards in Caroline has a small scar on her right Arm above her wrist which was Cross Wise and also a small one on the under part of the right arm which runs Lengthwise and also one on the outside rather back of her right ankle and no other notable marks which I can discover In Testimony whereof I have hereto set (Seal) my hand and affixed the Public seal of my office this 11th day of June Anno Domini 1807 Tho.s Richardson Clk of Caro Coty Co.t Caroline County to wit Be it remembered that on the 12th day of June 1807 I delivered to negro Dublin the Certificate of which the following is a court record. Viz.t State of Maryland Whereas negro Dublin heretofore to Caroline County to wit wit on the 2 day of June 1802 was manumitted by M.r Charles Blair of Caroline County her freedom to commence and take effect on the first day of January |
