feet six and a half inches high or thereabouts about thirty five years
of age of a dark brown complexion his hair woolly has a black
mole on his right cheek and a small scar a little to the left and above
the mole has lost his right upper foretooth and both of his upper eye
teeth and has no other notable Mark that I have seen
          In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand and the
(seal)  public seal of my office affixed this 7th day of May
          Anno Domini 1818

    State of Maryland Caroline County to wit  Whereas heretofore
to wit on the second day of June in the year of Our Lord One thousand
eight hundred and two a certain Charles Blair of Caroline
county aforesaid by deed of manumission duly executed & recorded
did manumit & set free a certain negro woman called Henny to
be free and at liberty from and after the first day of January
Eighteen hundred and Eighteen:  And whereas the same negro
woman named Henny has made application to me for a
certificate of her freedom agreeably to the act of assembly
in such case made and provided.  And I being satisfied by the
Oath of William Dillon that the said negro woman named
Henny for whom this certificate is made is the identical negro
woman mentioned in the said manumission I do therefore
grant her said application and hereby Certify that the said
negro woman Henny is five feet two and ^three^ quarter
inches high or thereabouts about nineteen years of age of
a dark brown complexion her hair wooly has to small
scars on the upper part of the right arm above the elbow
joint and has no other notable mark that I have seen
                In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand
(seal)       and the public Seal of my Office affixed this 19th
               day of May Anno Domini 1818  Jo Richardson Clk of
