State of Maryland Caroline County to wit.  Be it rememb Araminta Russum
hath made application to me for a Certificate of her freedom agreeably to law
and whereas on the Oath of John Gambrill has been proven that said Araminta
Gambrill was free born.  I do therefore grant this Certificate.  She is now about twenty
two years of age five feet and one half inch high or thereabout of a Chesnut
Complexion was born and raised in Caroline County & has a very
small scar between her eyes & has no other mark or scar that I have observed
(seal)  In Testimony whereof I hereunto Subscribe my name and affix
          the Seal of the Circuit Court for Caroline County this Sixth day of
          April Anno Domini Eighteen Hundred and sixty

hath made application to me for a Certificate of her freedom agreeably to law
And whereas on the oath of John Gambrill has been proven that said
Harriet Emily Russum was free born.  I do therefore grant this Certificate
She is now about nineteen years of age five feet and three inches high or
thereabout of a Chesnut Complexion was raised in Caroline County & has
no notable marks or scars that I have observed
(seal)   In Testimony whereof I hereunto Subscribe my name and affix the
           Seal of the Circuit Court for Caroline County this Sixth day of
           April Anno Domini Eighteen Hundred and Sixty
