State of Maryland Caroline County to wit
                           Whereas application hath been made
to me by a negro woman named or calling herself
Leeta Ann Willson for a certificate of her freedom
agreeably to the acts of assembly in such cases made
and provided by which said acts free negroes and mulatoes
are permitted to travel out of this state upon the obtention of
a certificate of being free born. And whereas also upon
the oath of John R. Willis of Caroline County aforesaid
that the said negro woman named Leeta Ann Willson
for whom this Certificate is made was free born I do
therefore grant her said application and hereby Certify
that from his own account she is now about eighteen
years of age five feet & one half inch high or thereabouts
of a dark mulatto complexion was born and raised
in Caroline County aforesaid & has scars on the fingers
of the right hand the backs of the same presenting a
white appearance occasioned by having been scalded
& has no other notable marks or scars that I have observed
                                           In testimony whereof I hereto
                                           subscribe my name and affix
    (Seal)                              the seal of Caroline County
                                           Court this 10th day of April

agreeably to the acts of Assembly in such case made and
provided by which said acts free negroes and mulattoe's
are permitted to travel out of this state upon the obtention
of a certificate of being free born and whereas also
upon the oath of John R. T. Saulsbury of Caroline
County aforesaid that the said negro woman named
Sarah E G Ross for whom this certificate is made
was free born    I do therefore grant her said application
and hereby certify that from his own account she
is now about eighteen years of age five feet one and
a quarter inches high or thereabouts of a black complexion
was born and raised in Caroline County aforesaid
and has a large scar on the left wrist caused
by a cut and a small one on the right wrist caused
by the bite of a dog and has no other notable marks
or scars that I have observed   In Testimony whereof
             I hereunto subscribe my name and affix the
                seal of Caroline County Court this 23d day of Feby Ap.l
