application and hereby certify that from his own
account he is now about twenty two years of age
seven & three quarter inches high or thereabouts of
chesnutt complexion was born and raised in Caroline
County aforesaid and has a small scar caused from
the first joint of his fore finger on his right hand and another
small scar near his left cheek bone and has no other notable
marks or scars that I have observed  In Testimony
                   whereof I hereunto subscribe my name and
(seal)           affix the seal of Caroline County Court on this
                   19th day of December 1848
