State of Maryland Caroline County to wit whereas application
hath been made to me by a negro woman named Ann Wisher
for a certificate of her freedom agreeably to the acts of assembly
in such case made and provided by which said acts free negroes
and Mulattoes are permitted to travel out of this state upon the
obtention of a certificate of being free born and whereas also
upon the oath of Mrs Mary Ann Ozmon of Kent County Md
that the said negro woman named Ann Wisher for whom
this Certificate is made was free born I therefore grant her
said application and hereby certify that from her own account
she is now about eighteen years of age five feet four inches
high or thereabouts of a chesnutt complexion was born and
raised in Caroline County aforesaid & has two small
scars on her left cheek and has no other notable marks
or scars that I have observed,   In Testimony whereof
(  State of )              I hereto subscribe my name
(Maryland)              and affix the seal of Caroline County
(    Seal    )              Court this 8th day of September AD 1847

for a certificate of her freedom agreeably to the acts of assembly
in such case made and provided by which said acts free
negroes and mulattoes are permitted to travel out of this state
upon the obtention of a certificate of being free born and whereas also
upon the oath of Whiteley Johnson Esquire of Caroline County aforesaid that
the said negro woman named Lydia Stanford for whom this certificate
is made was free born.  I do therefore grant her said application and hereby
certify that from her own account she is now about twenty years of
age four feet eight inches high or there abouts of a dark chesnutt
complexion was born and raised in Caroline County aforesaid and has no
notable marks or scars that I have observed  In Testimony whereof I hereto subscribe
( Md )                        my name and affix the seal of Caroline County Court
