her own account she was Nineteen years of age on the twenty fourth day
of May last past five feet one high a inch high or thereabouts of a
dark mulatto Complexion was born and raised in Caroline County aforesaid
and has a mark on the left side of her face near her ear and has no other
notable marks or scars that I ^have^ observed
(seal of Caroline)      In Testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe my name
(  County Court )      and affix the seal of Caroline County Court this Sixth day
                                of May Anno Domini 1846

State of Maryland Caroline County to wit; Whereas application hath
been made to me by a negro man named Cutbird King for a certificate
of his freedom agreeably to the Acts of Assembly in such Case made
and provided by which said acts free negroes and mulattoe's are
permitted to travel out of this State upon the obtention of a certificate
of being free born; And whereas also upon the Oath of Edward Perry of Caroline
County aforesaid that the said negro man named Cutbird King for whom
this Certificate is made was free born; I do therefore grant his said
application and hereby Certify that from his own account he is now
about twenty three years of age five feet two and one half inches high
or thereabouts was born and raised in Caroline County aforesaid and
of a brown Complexion and has a small scar on the top of his right
foot and has no other notable marks or scars that I have observed
(     seal of      )        In Testimony whereof I hereto subscribe my name and affix
(    Caroline    )        the seal of Caroline County Court this 15.th day of May A D.
