that the said negro man named William Turner jun.r for whom this
Certificate is made was free born; I do therefore grant his said
application and hereby Certify that from his own account he was
twenty one years of age on the thirty first day of August last past
five feet four and one quarter inches high or thereabouts was
born and raised in Caroline County aforesaid and Complexion
black and the middle finger on the right hand a little crooked
and has no other notable marks or scars that I have observed
(        seal of      )       In Testimony whereof I hereto subscribe my
(Caroline County)      name and affix the seal of Caroline County
(         Court       )      Court this twenty fifth day of February

State of Maryland Caroline County to wit; Whereas application
hath been made to me by a negro woman named Vilater Boston
for a Certificate of her freedom agreeably to the acts of Assembly
in such cases made and provided by which said acts free negroes
and mulattoes are permitted to travel out of this State upon the
Obtention of a Certificate of being free born; And whereas also
upon the Oath of John Evitts of Caroline County aforesaid
that the said negro woman named Vilater Boston for whom
this Certificate is made was free born; I do therefore grant
her said application and hereby Certify that from her own
account she was thirty six years of age on the twenty
eighth day of March last past four feet ten inches
high or thereabouts of a dark mulatto complexion was
born and raised in Caroline County aforesaid and has
a small scar on the left side of her breast near the collar
bone and has no other notable marks or scars that I have
(        Seal of      )   observed      In Testimony whereof I hereunto subscribe
(Caroline County)   my name and affix the seal of Caroline
(         Court       )   County Court this 8.th day of March 1845
