(seal)                          In Testimony Whereof I hereto subscribe my name and
                                  Affix the public seal of my office this 26th day of August
                                  A. D. 1840                        Jo Richardson  Clek of
                                                    Cost $1.00         Caroline County Court


    State of Maryland Caroline County to wit; Whereas on the twenty ninth day of
March in the year eighteen hundred and twenty a certain Samuel Hardcastle of
Caroline County and State aforesaid by deed of Manumission duly executed acknowledged
and recorded among the land records of Caroline County aforesaid did
manumit and set free a certain negro woman named Sintha to be free from and after
the twenty ninth day of March Eighteen hundred and forty  And whereas the
said negro woman named Sintha having made application to me for a certificate of
her freedom agreeably to the acts of Assembly in such Case made and provided; And
Whereas also upon the oath of Thomas M Wood of Caroline County aforesaid that
the said negro woman named Sintha for whom this Certificate is made is the same
person mentioned in the said Manumission   I do therefore grant her said application
and hereby Certify from her age expressed in said manumission she was thirty five years
of age in March last past five feet two and one half inches or thereabouts was born
and raised in Caroline County Complexion black and has a large scar of a cut over
her right eye and just in the edge of the wool ^or hair^ on her head and two other scars
occasioned by the bite of a dog on her right arm and has no other notable marks or
scars that I have observed

State of Maryland Caroline County to wit; Whereas heretofore to wit; on the second day of
June Eighteen hundred and two a certain Charles Blair of Caroline County by deed
of Manumission duly executed acknowledged and recorded among the land records
of Caroline County did manumit and set free (among others) a certain negro woman
named Henny and her issue if males when they should attain the age of twenty five
years; And Whereas Joshua Webb negro being the issue of the aforesaid Henny having
made application to me for a certificate of his freedom agreeably to the act of
assembly in such cases made and provided; And Whereas also upon the oath
