she was thirty three years of age in May last past five feet one inch high or thereabouts
was born and raised in Caroline County complexion dark brown and has
a small scar of a cut burn on the back of her right arm and has no other notable
marks or scars that that I have observed
(seal)                       In Testimony Whereof I hereto subscribe my name and
                               Affix the public seal of my Office this sixth day of December

State of Maryland Caroline County to wit; Whereas heretofore to wit on the twenty
fifth day of August Eighteen hundred and twenty seven a certain Joseph Fleharty
of Caroline County by deed of Manumission duly acknowledged and recorded among
the land records of Caroline County did manumit and set free a certain negro
woman named Maria to be free at the expiration of thirteen years from the
first day of January Eighteen hundred and twenty eight; And the said negro
woman Maria having made application to me for a Certificate of her
freedom agreeably to the acts of Assembly in such cases made and provided
And Whereas also upon the oath of John Rumbold of Caroline County
that the said negro woman named Maria for whom this certificate is
made is the same person mentioned in said manumission I do therefore
grant her said application and hereby certify that from her age as
expressed in the said manumission she is now about twenty seven
years of age five feet and one half inch high or thereabouts of a
Brown complexion was born and raised in Caroline County
and has a small scar of a cut just over her right eye and has
no other notable marks or scars that I have observed
(seal)           In Testimony whereof I hereto subscribe my name and
                   affix the public seal of my office this 25.th day of

fifteenth day of August Eighteen hundred and seventeen a certain Levin
Charles of Caroline County by deed of manumission duly executed acknowledged
and recorded among the Land records      of Caroline County did manumit and
set free among others a negro boy named Levi and the said negro man named
Levi having made application to me for a certificate of his freedom agreeably to the
acts of Assembly in such Case made and provided, And Whereas also upon the
oath of Nathan Manship of Caroline County that the said negro man named
