State of Maryland Caroline County to wit  Whereas heretofore to wit on the sixth day of November
eighteen hundred and twelve a Certain Thomas Duhamel of Caroline County by deed of manumission
duly executed acknowledge and recorded among the land records of Caroline County among
others did manumit and set free a certain negro woman named Flora to be free from the
date of the manumission and the said negro woman named Flora haveing made application
to me for a certificate of her freedom agreeably to the acts of assembly in such
Cases made and provided  And whereas also upon the oath of Eliza Atkinson of Caroline
County that the said negro woman named Flora for whom this Certificate is made
is the same person mentioned in the said manumission I do therefore grant her
said application and hereby certify that from her age as expressed in the said manumission
she is now about fifty three years of age ^five feet one inch high or thereabouts^ of a black Complexion was born in Queen
Anns and raised partly in Caroline County and has a scar of a cut on her right
wrist and has no other notable marks or scars that I have observed
(seal)                          In Testimony whereof I hereto subscribed my name and affix
                                  the public seal of my office this 29th day of September

named Charlotte to be free when she should orrive to the age of sixteen years  And
the said negro woman named Charlotte haveing made application to me for a
Certificate of her freedom agreeably to the acts of assembly in such case made and
 provided  and Whereas also upon the oath of Eliza Atkinson of Caroline County
that the said negro woman named Charlotte for whom this certificate is made
is the same person mentioned in the said manumission I do therefore grant her said
application and hereby certify that from her age as expressed in the said manumission
she is now about thirty years of age four feet nine and one half inches high
or thereabouts of a brown Complexion was born and raised in Caroline County and
has no notable marks or scars that I have observed
(seal)                     In Testimony whereof I hereto subscribe my name and affix the public
                              seal of my office this 29th day of September A. D. 1836
