   Michl. Byrne | Commanded it was to the Sherf of Kent County
        at | the twenty first day of March in the third year
   Peter Williams | of his Lord Ships Dominion &ca. That he take Peter


Williams of Kent County in the Province of Maryland
   planter alis Dics Peter Williams of the afd County & Province if he Should be found
   in his Bailywick & him Safe keep So that he have his body before his Said Lord
   Ships Justices of the next Court to be held at our Court house in the Town of Chester
   in Said County to Answer unto Michael Byrne of a plea that he render to him
   the full & just Sum of five Hundred & Seventy pounds of Tobacco and also the
   Cost of Sute of an Accõn of detinue which from him he unjustly detains &ca
   And that he have then and there the Said writ &ca. Att which Said next Court
   viz the Seventeenth day of June Annoq Domini One Thousand Seven
   hundred and Eighteen the day of return of Said writ Came Simon Wilmer
   Gent. high Sherf of Said County and made return thereof in these words
   thereon Endorsed as folls vizt. Cepi Corpus pr Simon Wilmer Sherf ———
   and a Declaration being filed in the afd Accõn which folls vizt Kent County Ss
   Peter Williams of Kent County in ye Province of Maryland planter alis Dics Peter Willi:
  :ams of the afd County & Province was Summoned to Answer unto Michael Byrne
   of a plea that he render to him the full & just Sum of five Hundred & Seventy —
   pounds of Tobacco & also the Cost of Sute of an Action of Detinue which from
   him he unjustly detains &ca ——
                  and whereupon the afd Plt by Thomas Bowne his attorney
   Saith that whereas the afd Deft the twelfth day of February Anno Domini Seventeen
   hundred and Seventeen in Kent County afd in the Jurisdiccõn of this Court by his
   Certain bill obligatory which the Said Deft Sealed with the Seal and as his —
   Deed delivered here into Court brought the date whereof is the Same day and
   year afd Bound himself to pay unto the afd Plt the afd Sume of five
   hundred & Seventy pounds of Tobacco and the Summe of two hundred and
   thirty four pounds of Tobacco the Cost of Sute of an Action of Detinue —
   against him in the whole amounting to Eight hundred and four pounds
   of Tobacco of the value of Eight pounds Sterling when thereunto required Yet the
   afd Deft altho’ often required the afd Summe of Eight hundred and four
   pounds of Tobacco to the afd Plt hitherto hath not rendered but that to him
   to render hath denied & Yet denyesto the damage of the said Plt tenn—
   pounds Sterling money and thereupon he brings Sute &ca—
                                                   Tbowne pr Quer plds Jno Doe & Richd Roe

   and the afd Deft. being called came and the afd Plt by his afd attorney—
   prays that the afd Deft. might give Special baile to the afd accõn which
   is granted And that he be kept in Safe Custody by the Sherrif of Said —
   County untill he Should give Special bail to the afd Accõn—
