   Edward Sammon | Commanded it was to the Sherf of Kent County
        ——— | the Twenty first day of March in the third year of his
           at | Lord Ships Dominion &ca. That he take John Dunkin
   John Dunkin— | of Kent County Planter alis Dics John Dunkine of Kent

County Planter in the Province of Maryland if he
   Should be found in his Bailywick & him Safe keep So that he have his body
   before his Said Lord Ships Justices of the next Court to be held at our Court house
   in the Town of Chester in Said County to Answer unto Edward Sammon of
   a plea that he render him the full and Just Sume of Six hundred and forty
   pounds of good Sound Marchantable Tobacco in well Seasoned Caske of the
   price & value of four pds Sterlg money which from him he unjustly detains &ca.
   And that he have then and there the Said writ &ca   .    .    Att which Said
   next Court vizt. the Seventeenth day of June Anno Domi one Thousand
   Seven hundred and Eighteen the day of return of Said writ came—
   Simon Wilmer Gent~. high Sherf of Said County and made return —
   thereof in these words thereon Endorsed as folls vizt. Cepi Corpus pr S:Wilmer Sher
   And A Decln being filed when Said writ Issued forth & a Copy thereof Served
   therewith According to Act of Assembly in Such Case made was as folls
   vizt. Kent County Ss. John Dunkin of Kent County Planter alis Dics John Dunkine
   of Kent County Planter in the Province of Maryland was Summoned to —
   answer unto Edward Sammon of a plea that he render him the full and Just
   Sume of Six hundred and forty pounds of good Sound Merchantable leafe~
   Tobacco in well Seasoned Cask of the price & value of four pounds Sterlg money
   which from him he unjustly detains &ca. And Whereupon the afd Plt~ by —
   Thomas Bowne his attorney Saith that whereas the afd Deft~ the nineth day
   of May in the year of our Lord Christ one Thousand Seven hundred and Seventeen
   of St. Pauls Parish in Kent County within the Jurisdiciõn of this Court by his
   Certain bill obligatory which he the Said Deft~ Sealed with his Seale and
   as his deed Delivered hereinto Court brought the date whereof is the Same
   day & yeare afd bound himselfe his heirs Executr. adminirtrs in the afd full
   and just Sum of Six hundred and forty pounds of good Sound Marchantable
   leafe Tobacco in well Seasoned Cask to Convent one the Plantation of the Sd
   Deft of the afd price and value of four pounds Sterlg money at or upon the
   tenth day of November next Ensuing the date of the Said bill obligatory Yet
   the afd Deft~ altho’ often required the afd Sume of Six hundred and forty
   pounds of Tobacco of the afd price & value of four pds Sterlg money to the Said
   Plt~. hath not paid but that to him to render or pay the Said Deft~ hitherto.
   hath denyed & Still doth deny and unjustly detain to the damage of him the
   Said Plt~. one Thousand pounds of Tobacco and thereupon he brings Sute &ca.

   And the afd Deft being called came And the Said Plt by his afd attry prays —
   that the Said Deft~ may give Special baile to the afd Accõn which is -
