   Kent County Planter alis Dics John Trewe of Kent County Planter was Summoned
   to Answer unto Thomas Jones of a plea that he render to him the full and Just~.
   Sume or quantity one Thousand and Seventeen hundred pounds of good Sound -
   large bright and drie leafe Tobacco free from ground leaves and all manner
   of Trash & Cask to Contain the Same of ye value of Twenty Seven pounds
   Sterling money which he unjustly detains &ca. And Whereupon the afd Plt~ by
   Thomas Bowne his attry Saith that whereas the afd Deft~ the Twentieth
   day of June In the Year of our Lord Christ~ one Thousand Seven hundred &
   Seventeen at St. Pauls Parish in Kent County afd within the Jurisdiciõn of
   this Court by his Certain bill obligatory which he the Said Deft~ Sealed wth
   his Seale and as his deed delivered hereinto Court brought the date whereof
   is the Same day & year afd bound himselfe his heires Execrs. & Admrs. to pay
   or cause to be paid unto the afd Plt~ the afd full and just Sume or quantity
   of one Thousand and Seventeen hundred pounds of Tobacco qualified as —
   abovesaid and Cask of the afd value of Twenty Seven pounds Sterling money
   of the Said Defts then Dwelling Plantacõ hath not paid nor Caused to be
   paid but that to him to render or pay hath hitherto denyed and Still doth
   deny and unjustly detain to the damage of him the Said Plt~ fifty pounds —
   Sterling money and thereupon he brings Sute &ca.                      Jno Doe

   And the afd Plt by his afd Attry prays that the Said Deft~ to his Decln afd may
   Answer   And the Said Deft comes into Court and in his proper person appears
   to the above Accõn and Saith that he Cannot gainsay the Accon afd of him~
   the Said Plt~. nor but that the writeing obligatory above mentioned is
   his Act and deed and that he oweth unto the Said Plt~ the afd Sumes of
   one Thousand and Seventeen hundred pounds of Tobacco and is willing
   that Judgment Should be entered for the Same & Cost thereon Accruing -
   Therefore it is Considered by the Court here vizt. this Eighteenth day
   of June Anno Domi one Thousand Seven hundred and Eighteen-
   That the afd Plt. Thomas Jones Recover against~ the Said Deft John~
   Trew. as well the afd Sumes of one Thousand and Seventeen hundred —
   pounds of Tobacco Debt~. as also the Sume of [Four?] hundred and nine —
   pounds of Tobacco Cost of by the afd Plt~ about his Sute in this behalfe
   Expended and by the Court here of his assent adjudged and the Said Deft
   in mercy &ca.
