   520                                     June Court 1720.
   his Rule and dignity and against the form of an act of assembly of this
   Province now in force in Such Case made and provided
   Evid: Simon Wilmor Sheriff                      DMacbride pr Ld propry:
             Billa Vera Abram Redgrave foreman
      And the Sd Edward Dwire in his properson appears to the Indictment
   afd.    And this Court Orders that the Same be Quashed and that all pro:
   ceedings thereon Cease, but that he the Sd Edward Dwire Shall pay the fees
   on the Sd Indictment amounting to the Summ of two hundred —————
   —————————— pounds of Tobacco on which Comes into Court
   John Dwire of Sd County and assumes the fees afd. on the premisses afd
   and that the Sd Edward Dwire be there from Acquitt.

   County into the Custody of Simon Wilmer Gentn high Sheriff of Sd County on Sus:
   :picion of Burning the afd. County Court house, And the Grand Jury Impanelled
   against the Sd. Charles Hill for brakeing prison^outof the Custody of the Sd Sheriff
   which Presentment was by David Macbride Clerk of Indictments for the Same
   County drawn into a Bill of Indictment which followeth vizt.

   Maryland      | vince of Maryland that now is and the Body o fKent County on


their Oath do present that whereas a Certain Charles Hill late of
   South Sassafrax lower hundred Servant of a Certain Francis Collins late of South
   Sassafrax Lower hundred afd. Cordwinder the ninth day of May in the Year
   of our Lord Christ one thousand Seven hundred and Twenty Att South South
   Sassafrax lower hundred afd: for Suspicion of the prepense malicious and
   felonious burning of the Court house of the Sd Ld. propry: in the Town of Chester in
   Kent County afd: was taken and Arested and afterwards vizt: the Ninth day of may
   in the Year afd: at South Sassafrax lower hundred afd. in Shrewsberry Parish in
   Kent County afd: and within the Jurisdiction of this Court by William Comegys
   Gentleman then and now at this present time one of the Justices of our Sd Ld:
   Proprietary the peace in the County afd: to keep as also diverse felonies trespasses
   and other misdemeanours in the County afd: Don to hear and Determine appointed
   for the afd: Suspicion of the afd: prepense malicious felonious burning of the
   Court house afd: by the afd: Charles Hill Supposed to be done Examined then &
   there by the Said William Comegys Gentn. Into the Goal of our Sd Lord Propry in Kent
   County afd. in the Custody of Simon Wilmer Gentn: then and now Sheriff of the County
