   Lordship the Lord Proprietary of this province his heires and Successors in
   the Sum of five pounds Sterling money to be leveyed on his Goods and Chatles
   Lands and Tenements Conditionally that if he does not appear here at next Court
   as an Evidence on behalf of his Lordship against the Sd George Macay
   wherewith he acknowledges himself Content
   Philip Holleadger Senr. and Philip Holeadger junr. Entered into Recognizances at March Cort. Last in ye Sum of five pds Sterlg Each for their
   Appearance at this Cort [illegible] on his Ldps behalf agst ye Sd Geo Mecay [illegible] Court Continues ye Sd Recognizances Each of them
   DM. Lordship —– | This being an accõn of Trespass on the Case Com=
           at | menced by his Sd Lordship against the Sd Patrick
     Patrick McNeal  | Mcneal and wherein the Sheriff of Sd County to whome


the writt in the Sd Accõn was directed makes Return to
   the Court here the third teusday of June vizt the 21st day of Said month being
   the day of Return of Sd Writt Endorst Cepi Corpus pr Simon Wilmer Sheriff.
        Kent County in Maryland Ss. The Jurors for the honourable the Ld Propry
   and the Body of Kent County on their oath do prsent that Patrick McNeale
   late of Langfords Bay Upper hundred Cordwinder Servant of a Certain Tho=
   mas Garnett the fourteenth day of June in the Year of our Lord Christ one
   thousand Seven hundred and Nineteen and at diverse other times as well be=
   fore as after at Langfords Bay Upper hundred afd in Kent County afd^&with=
   in the Jurisdiction of this Court the fear of God before his Eyes not haveing
   but by the Instigation of the Devill being led did Committ fornication with
   a Certain Katharin Poor Servant of a Certain William Smith and
   thereby did begett a base Child on the Body of the Sd Katharine Poor to the
   high displeasure of Almighty God to the Evill and pernicious Example of others
   Against the peace of our Ld Lord Proprietary his Rule and dignity and agt
   the form of an Act of Assembly of this province now in force in Such Case
   made & provided                                               DMacbride pr Dño propro
      Evid: Katharin Poor
             On the Back of the preceeding Indictment was Endorst as folls vizt.
             Billa Vera Abram Redgrave foreman
   And the afd Patrick Mcneal in his proper person Comes and appears to
   the afd. Indictment and Says he Gainsay the Same but that he is guilty
   of the premisses afd. and thereupon Submitts himself to the Court. Thereup
   upon it is Considered by the Court here the 29th day of July Anno Domi
   1720 pay the Summ of thirty Shillings Currant money his fine for Com=
   mitting fornication So as afd. Confessed as also the Summ of two hundred
   and Seventy five —– pounds of Tobacco Costs ariseing on the premisses
   Ordered that the fine afd. be delivered to the Sheriff. whereupon James Smith
   delivers to Simon Wilmer Sheriff the Summ of Tenn Shillings Sterling the (Re=
   Sidue being due to him by the County) for the fine of the afd. Patrick Mcneal
