   An Act of assembly of this province now in force in Such Case made and
   provided                                                                        DMacbride pr Ld prpry
      Evid. Fred. Hanson Edward Davis William Robarts
           On the Back of the preceeding Indictment was Endorst as folls vizt.
        Billa vera Abram Redgrave foreman.            The Said Josiah Crouch
   pleads not Guilty and for tryall puts himself on God and the Country
                                                                                      Josiah Crouch pr prson
      And he who follows for the Lord propry in like manner Says he is Guilty
                                                                                      DMacbride pr Ld propry
   Thereupon Command was given to the Sheriff of Kent County that he
   Immediatly Cause to Come twelve &c. by whome &c. who neither &c. To Re=
   cognize &c Because as well &c. of which Sd Precept the Sd Sheriff now here at
   this day vizt. the 29th day of July Anno Domi 1720 Makes Return that
   he hath here ready twelve &c. as by his precept he was Commanded and
   now here afterwards vizt the day and year last mentioned Comes Again as
   well the Sd Ld propry. by His Clerk of Indictments as also the Sd Josiah Crouch
   and Stands at the Barr And the Jurors of that Jury being impannelled who
   being Called likewise came vizt. William Graves Thomas piner Arthur Fore=
   man Mathew Piner Thomas Jones Thomas Boots James piner Thomas
   Ricker Daniel Cooley Rice Jones George Murphett Nathaniel Ricketts
   who being truely Elected tryed and Sworn to Say the truth in the premisses
   upon their oath do Say that the Sd Josiah Crouch is not Guilty as he Stands
   indicted, and by William Graves their Foreman all So Say Therefore
   it is Considered by the Court Here the 29th day of July anno Domi 1720
   afd. that the afd. Josiah Crouch as to the afd Indictment go thereof without
   day and that he be therefrom acquitted but that the Sd Josiah Crouch Shall
   pay the Summ of Seven hundred and Ninty Seven    —————
   pounds of Tobacco by the Court here adjudged to him for his Costs and
   Charges accrueing on the premisses af,sd to the officers of this Court
        Ordered by the Court here that the Sheriff of Sd County keep the Sd Josiah
   Crouch in Safe Custody untill the fees afd. amounting to Seven hundred
      and Ninty Seven ——    pounds of Tobacco afd. he Shall Satisfy
   Whereupon John Rolph of Kent County Sawier here in Court pre
   Sent in his proper person Says that he will pay the fees afd. for the afd.
   Josiah Crouch amounting to the Sum of Seven hundred and Ninty
   Seven pounds of Tobacco to whome the Same is due .
