June Court 1718 49 in Court & Answer unto what Shall be objected against him on his Lordships behalfe and to be of good behaviour and Especially to Garret Closier wherewith he acknowledges himselfe Content~ Roger Cannady and Peter Debruler Acknowledges themselfes Indebted to his Lordship his heirs & Successors in the full Sume of five pounds Sterling to be Leveyd on their goods & Chattells Lands & Tenements Conditionally that if the afd Hance Hanson Shall~ not appear and Answer as afd and to be of good behaviour as afd wherewith they acknowledge themselves Content~. Thomas Joce of this County being Executor of his father Thomas Joce late decd And Nicholas Joce and of the orphants of the deed having due to him out of his Sd . fathers Estate Some Negros. which was left by the decd. The afd Executor brings - into Court Some of the decd Negros to be valued by the Court to be paid to the afd Nicho. for his past being forty five pounds : The afd Executor brings into Court a Negro woman and A negro Girl to be viewed. The Court on view of the Same Adjudges them to the value of forty pounds Sterling which the Court doth order to the Said Nicholas for his part of the negros which the Said Nicholas immediately accepts in Court and remains Still due to the Said Nicho five pounds Sterling money to make up his full Share of the Said deed negros And this Court doth order That the afd Thomas Joce pay the afd Sume of five pounds Sterling to the afd Nicho Joce The Grand Jury returns & delivers a presentments as folls vizt. one against Robert~ Linch & Thomas Cooke for Stealing Tobo from William Pope one against Hance Hanson for breaking the peace the grand Jury Consents that~ forme not touching Substance may [altered] in the afd present[mt.] William Graves Acknowledges a Conveyance for one hundred Acres of Land being part of a tract of Land called popes forrest to Joseph Everit Likewise Elizabeth Graves wife of the afd Wm Graves being privately Examined out of the hearing of her Said Husband by Mr. Marmaduke Tilden one of his Lordships Justices of the peace for Said County who doth Say that She is willing and doth give up all her right title interest Claime property : Clame & demand of the afd Land & premises thereto belonging unto the afd Joseph Everit Proclamation appearance Docket called over as folls vizt
at our Court house in the Town of Chester in Said County on the third Tuesday in June next to . Satisfie unto Thomas Hughes as well the Sume of Three Thousand Eight hundred Sixty Eight pounds of Tobacco Damages by the afd Plt~ Recovered against the Said Deft before the Justices of our Said Court on the Twenty first day of March Instant whereof he is convict~ as appears upon Record as also the Sume of one Thousand fifty Six pounds of- Tobo. |
