                                        March Court 1719                                  445  
   Saith that he the Said Gilbert trusting to the faithfull promises of the Said
   John Jones afterwards vizt. the afd Nineteenth day of March in the Year afd
   at the Parish County & Jurisdiciõn afd at the Instance and request of the Sd
   John Jones to the afd Thomas Tolly the Sume of five hundred pounds of
   Tobacco at twelve Shillings a hundred Nevertheless the afd John Jones
   his promises and Assum afd in form afd made little regarding butt plott:
   :ing & fraudulently Intending the Said Gilbert in that behalfe Craftily to
   deceive & defraud the Sume of five hundred pounds of good Tobacco to the
   Said Gilbert after the Said Nineteenth day of March did not pay neither
   to the Said Gilbert as much Tobacco as at the rate of Eight Shillings a
   hundred Amounts to the Sume of Three pounds Currant money of
   Maryland which last mentioned Tobacco at the rate of Eight Shills. a
   hundred amounts to Seven hundred & fifty pounds of Tobacco has he
   the Said John Jones paid altho’ to pay the Same Seven hundred and fifty
   pounds of Tobacco & the Said three pounds Currant money of Maryland
   of the value of the Said Seven hundred & fifty pounds of Tobacco the Sd
   John Jones on the Second day of December and often after in the Year
   afd at the Parish County and Jurisdicion afd by the Said Gilbert was
   thereunto required But the Said Sume of Seven hundred and fifty pounds
   of Tobacco or ye. Said Sume of Three pounds Currant money of Maryland
   of the value of ye Said Seven hundred & fifty pounds of Tobacco to the Sd
   Gilbert to pay he the Said John Jones hitherto hath denyed & Still doth
   denie to the damage of the Said Gilbert Six pounds Currant money
   of Maryland and thereupon he brings Suite &ca.

     At the Prayer of the Plt by his attry afd the Said Deft is adjudged to
   give Special baile to the accõn afd And that the Sherf of Said County
   keep the Said Deft. in Safe Custody untill he Shall give Special baile
   as afd And thereupon the Said Cause was Continued untill the then
   next Court
        Att which Said next Court to wit the 16th day of June Anno Domi 1719
   comes again as well the Said Plt. by his attry afd as the Said Deft in
   Custdy of the Sherf of Said County and the Said cause is further —
   Continued untill the next Court
        Att which Said next Court to wit the 18th day of August Anno
   Domi 1719 comes again as well the Sd Plt. by his attry afd as ye Sd Deft in Custody
