    428                             March Court 1719
   hundred afd in Kent County afd and within the Jurisdiciõn the
   Jurisdiciõn of this Court the fear of God before her eyes not having
   but by the Instigation of the devill being Led did Committ fornication
   with a Certain Patrick MccNeale Servant of a Certain Thomas Garnett
   and thereby did Suffer herselfe to be begott with Child to the high
   displeasure of Almighty God to the Evill and pernicious example of
   others against the peace of our Said Lord Propry. his Rule and dignity
   and against the form of an Act of Assembly of this Province now
   in force in Such Case made and provided    D Macbride pr Dnõ Proprie
   on the back of the preceeding Indictment was Endorsed as folls vizt.

   And now here at the Court to wit the 19th day of March Anno Domi 1719
   comes the afd Katharine Poor and Says that She Cannot gainsay the
   Indictment afd nor but that She is guilty of fornication as afd thereby
   was begott with Child. and thereupon She Submits to the Court.
   ordered by the Court here that the Said Katharine Poor prove the
   begitter on which She proves that Patrick MccNeale was the
   begitter of her afd Child : Therefore it is Considered by the
   Justices here to wit the 19th day of March Anno Domi 1719 afd.
   That the Said Katharine Poor have on her bare back three Lashes
   untill the blood appeare for her offence afd of Committing fornication
   in forme afd Confessed. as also pay the Sume of Two hundred —
   Sixty one pounds of Tobacco accrueing on the premises afd to
   the officers of this Court
   It is Considered by the Justices here to wit the Same day and
   year last mentioned That Simon Wilmer Gent. high Sherf of Said
   County take the afd Katharine Poor into his Custody and give her on
   her back as in the Judgment afd and when Executed to bring her into
   Court againe and afterwards the Same day and Year last mentioned
   came the Said Sherf with the Said Katharine and made return
   of his precept against the Said Katharine thereon Endorst as folls
   to wit In all things Served and Executed pr Simon Wilmer Sherf.
   ordered by the Court here that the Said Katharine Poor Serve at
   the Expiration of her time of Service two months for her part of the
   trouble of the house the Loss of time in Lying In Charge in bringing
   her to bead and disgrace of the house
