426 March Court 1719 and against the forme of an Act of Assembly of this Province now in force in Such Case made and Provided Evide Joan Davis D Macbride pr Ld Propr. on the back of the preceeding Indictmt. was as folls vizt. Billa Vera Abram Redgrave foreman and now here at this Court to wit the 18th day of March Anno Domi. 1719 comes the afd John Hadden to the barr and Says that he is no ways guilty as he Stands indicted and for tryal puts puts himselfe on God and his Country John Hadden in proper person And he who follow for the Lord Propry. in like manner Say’th he is guilty D Macbride pr Ld propry Thereupon Command is given to the Sherf of Kent County that he immediately cause to come here twelve &ca. By whom &ca. Who neither &ca. To Recognize &ca. Because as well &ca. of which Said precept the Said Sherf to wit Simon Wilmer Gent. now here at this day to wit the 18th day of March Anno Domi 1719 makes return that he hath here ready twelve &ca. as by his precept he was Commanded and now here afterwards to wit the day and Year last mentioned Comes againe as well the Said Lord Proprietary by his Clarke of Indictments afd as the Said prisoner at the barr afd and the Jurors of tha[t] Jury being Impannelled who being called Likewise came to wit Thomas Piner Robert Meeks John Ashley Robert Mensill William Brown Richard West John Rollinson George Reed William Graves William Blackiston Arthur Foreman John Reed who being duely Elected tryd and Sworn to Say the truth in the premises upon their Oath do Say that the Said John Hadden is not guilty as he Stands Indicted Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit the 18th day of March Anno Domi 1719 afd That the said John Hadden as to the afd Indictment go thereof without day and that he be therefrom acquitted And that he pay the fees accruing on the premises to the officers of this Court Amounting to the Sume of Seven hundred thirty one pounds of Tobo. ordered by the Court here that the Said John Hadden go to his masters Service And that his Master at the Expiration of his time of Service be delivered up to the Court.
