March Court 1719 425 the Indictment afd So as afd against her nor but that She hath Committed the Sin of fornication and thereby She was begott with Child. And thereupon She Submits to the Court Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit the 18th day of March Anno Domi 1719 That the Said Margret Murray have on her back twelve Lashes till the blood appear for her offence of fornication afd in forme afd Confessed as also pay the Sume of Two hundred forty four pounds of Tobacco Cost accrueing on the premises afd to the officers of this Court It is Considered by the Justices here to wit the Same day and year last mentioned That Simon Wilmer Gent high Sherf of Said County take the afd Margret Murray to the whiping post and there to give her twelve Lashes as in the Judgment afd And when Executed to bring her into Court againe after which the Same day and year last mentioned Came the afd Sherf & with the afd Margret Murray and made return of his precept agst. the Said Margret thereon Endorst as folls viz In all things Served & Executed pr Simon Wilmer Sherf ordered by the Court here that the Said Margret Murray at the Expirati: :on of her time of Service (that She now Stands oblige for) that She Serve her Said Master Mr Michael Miller four months for trouble and Charge in her lying in and Loss of time ordered by the Court here that Mr. Michael Miller be allowed in ye next Levey the Sume of four hundred pounds of Tobacco for the keeping of the Said Margret Murrays child to this time ordered by the Court here that Mr. Michael Miller be allowed for the keeping the afd Child one Year Eight hundred pounds of Tobacco if the Same lives if not but Equevolent and that there be an equevolent part paid in the next Levey and remainer of the Levey folls ordered by the Court here that the Said Margret Murray go to her Masters Service and at the Expiration for her Master to deliver her up to the Court Jams Smith Clk
Nineteen at Morgans Creek hundred afd in Shrewsberry Parish in Kent County within the Jurisdiciõn of this Court by force and Arms &ca. the Close of a person to the Jurors unknown then & there did break & Enter and one hogg of the price of ten Shillings Sterling of the Goods & Chattells of a person to the Jurors un: :known then and there being found feloniously did Steal take bear away and kill against the peace of our Said Lord Proprietarie his Rule & dignity and |
