   on the third Tuesday in March to wit the 15th day of the Same month
   Anno Domi 1719 being the day of return Endorst Cepi Corpus pr

   Kent County Ss The Jurors for the Honble. the Lord Propry. & the Body

of Kent County on their Oath do present that Mary Bateman

wife of Christopher Bateman late of Langfords Bay upper
   hundred Taylor the fourth day of August in the Year of our Lord Christ one Thousand
   Seven hundred and Nineteen at the hundred afd at St. Pauls Parish in Kent County and
   within the Jurisdiciõn of this Court the fear of God before her eyes not having but by the
   Instigation of the Devill being Led Adultery did Committ with a Certain person to
   the Jurors unknown to the high displeasure of Almight God to the Evill and
   pernicious Example of others against the peace of our Said Lord
   proprietarie his Rule and dignity and against the forme of an Act
   of Assembly of this Province now in force in Such Case made and —–

   Evide. John Evans
   on the back of the preceeding bill was Endorsed as folls vizt
   Billa Vera pr William Crow foreman
   and now at this Court to wit the 16th day of March Anno Domi 1719
   comes the afd Mary Bateman and defends the force and injury
   when &ca. And Says that She cannot^gainsaythe Indictment afd So as afd
   against her and thereupon She Submits to the Court Therefore
   it is Considered by the Justices here the 16th day of March Anno
   Domi 1719 afd That the Said Mary Bateman pay the Sume of
   Three pounds Currant money for her offence afd of Committing adultery
   as also the Sume of Three hundred^twentythirty Three pounds of Tobacco
   Cost accruing — on the premises afd to the officers of this Court.
   upon which George Gleaves and John Johnson of Kent County Planters
   present here in Court and Saith that they will to pay Kent County
   Court for the use of the County The fine of the afd Mary Bateman amounting
   to the Sume of three pounds Currant money by the tenth day of
   November next ensuing As also the Fees accruing on the Premises
   afd against the Same And Thereupon the afd Mary Bateman is
   from the fine afd and fees thereon accruing discharged ——–

                 at | Certain Indictmt. found by the Grand Jury for Committing
