   the Said Deft and defends the force and Injury when &ca. And Says
   that he cannot gainsay the Plt his accon afd So as afd against him
   brought nor can he Say but that the Said Plt ought to recover his
   Debt by occation of the Premises afd with Cost of Suite which the
   Said Plt. does not gainsay Therefore it is Considered by the
   Justices here the 15th day of March Anno Domi 1719 afd That the Said
   William Elmes Recover against the Said John Beech as well the
   Sume of one Thousand two hundred thirty and Eight pounds of
   Tobacco his debt afd in forme afd Confessed as also the Sume of
   Two hundred forty two pounds of Tobacco by the Court here adjudged
   to him for his Costs and Charges about his Suite in this behalfe
   Expended and the Said Deft in mercy &ca.

   Henry Lowe Esqr. | This being an Accõn of Debt for the Sume of
             at | Sixteen hundred Sixty Six pounds of Tobacco
   Andw. Riddell – | And wherein there Issued a Copy of the Decln with

the writ in the Said Accon and Wherein the
   Sherf of Kent County to whom the writ in the Same accõn was
   directed makes return thereof to the Court here on the Third
   tuesday in March to wit the 15th day of the Same month Anno
   Domi 1719 being the day of return Endorst Cepi Corpus Copy of
   the Decln Served in time Pr me Simon Wilmer Sherf —–
   Whereupon At the prayer of the Plt by Ebenezr Cooke his attry
   the Deft was adjudged to give Special baile to the accõn afd And
   that the Sherf of Said County keep the Said Deft in Safe Custody
   untill he Shall give Special baile as afd
   Kent County Ss Andrew Riddell of Kent County Planter als Dicts Andrew Riddell of

Kent County Planter was Summoned to Answer unto Henry Lowe Merchant

of a plea that he render unto him the Sume of one Thousand Six hundred

fifty Six pounds of good Sound clean dry every way well conditioned

Tobacco clear from trash & ground leaves of the value of Sixteen pounds –

Sterling which from him he unjustly detains &ca. and whereupon
   the afd Plt by Ebenezr Cooke his attry Saith that Whereas the afd Deft
   the twenty fourth day of July in the Year of our Lord Christ Seventeen
   hundred & Eighteen at the Parish of St. Pauls in the Kent County within
   Jurisdiccõn of this Court as by his certain bill obligatory which
